Week 3: My Work Computer

So guys, this week I learned so much about how to make computer and the importance of their functions. I am going get a new computer to work on my HEAT jacket project and I am so excited! So as I learned each little part has a important function and they complement each other. Starting with the Motherboard since it is the 'hub' of the computer it is where everything else plugs into. I need to get one that is compatible with my my processor and memory. After I need to worry about my Memory since I am going to have so many information in that computer and I am going to be running so many different programs at the same time I am going to need speed for work so then I need a big memory, or RAM.

I am excited to get the Graphics Cards since I can not wait to design the first model of the jacket, pick out the color and just see a concrete version of my idea. I want high performance 3D graphics so I am going to get a fast GPU. The optical drive I have me eye on is the Blue-Ray. The Hard Disk Drive is so important since that is where the data in the computer is going to be stored when it is not in use by the processor and unlike the Memory the HDD saves the information even when the computer is turned off, so all my programs, documents, photos, videos and music will be stored there. Last technical decision to make for my new computer is the Power Supply Unit which I am planing on spending money since it has to be a good quality one since if it fails it can make other features fail as well and one with good circuitry to prevent damage to the rest of the components. After putting so much head into the functions of the computer I am excited to pick out the case. Even though I am more of a simple girls I want it to be cool and modern, I just need to make sure it is compatible with the air space, the Motherboard and all that stuff :).

I am so excited to keep on going with this process, it is amazing how a simple idea with hard work has turned into so much. I am so anxious to be able to actually see the products image thanks to my new computer which will let me work more effectively and faster! Well guys hope you learned a little bit about what is under that keyboard of your computer, and hopefully soon I will talk more about the graphics and the designs idea. Stick around because this is about to get better!

Week 2: HEAT with Digital Images/ Spreadsheet Essentials/ Excel

This last passed week I learned a lot about all the different functions we can use in the program Excel. Excel, being like a chart, is easy for keeping financial records and since it has a technology of mathematical skills I do not even have to update or change numbers one by one to get the total, Excel does it with the simple insert of a formula in the cell one wishes. While using Excel I am able to find out the sum, average, max, min, and more of how many people purchase my product and their opinions on it.
My plans for the Excel program is to use a pivot table to keep all of my data organized. Since the HEAT jacket is still in its primarily stages I don’t have that much financial to keep track off but I do have to know how many people know about the idea, how many of them are interested in investing, and how much. With Excel I can easily get averages and totals of how much I need and how much I have been offered. And the Cloud Computing is definitely going to help me when I am not in my computer (on my business trips) so I can run it over the Internet.
Another huge part of the HEAT jacket involves a lot of computer programming and test running. In order for me to produce this Jacket I am going to have to design different alternatives and then show them to an expert to see what his/her feedback is. This will require me to play with different styles and colors, and with the wide range of over 16 million Hex Codes this will be an interesting assignment. I cannot wait to see the first model!!!

Week 1: Introducing

After reading about a project presented to me by my ITS teacher I got to thinking what is something new I could create. Prof. Rubin showed us the idea that Sugara Mitra in 1999 took to India, she put a computer in a wall and let the children taught themselves; thus, The Hole in the Wall. It was so fascinating that a little kid even described the computer as "that which you can do anything". Isnt that amazing? Well I have a fully loaded question for you guys: tired of being either to hot or to cold in the winter, with all those layers and power walking to class, or even waiting for the bus? Don't be!! Check out this new technology!

Good afternoon fellow Syracuse students! So, winter is right around the corner and even though we all love to death our school the weather can sometimes be a horrible specially when we have to wake up at 6:30 am to be on time for our 8:00am classes because you live off campus! Well if you are like me and you dread the cold windy weather, I am here to tell you about this new innovating idea I came up with for my class, the entrepreneurship project. Its called HEAT and its about this light jacket that has the technology of a warmer built in so you can control the temperature or just wear it as a normal light jacket and since the weather here in Syracuse, New York is so unpredictable I think this could be a great hit!!! Comment, and let me know what you think guys.

Not only will this jacket have the technology of you choosing your temperature as you wish but it also has a built in thermometer that measures your average body heat while you are in movement and when you are just standing, like waiting for the bus or a friend. This built in thermometer is designed to produce either more o less heat depending on your activity. So if you are power walking to a class because you are late the heat being released will decrease, and if you are in College Place bus stop waiting for the bus the heater will increase the heat being released so you do not have to be adjusting it every five seconds. For all of this I will need a PC, a Personal Computer since I am going to be working a lot on it, I think I might get an Apple because in my opinion they have better graphics, but then again that is something I am going to have to research more broadly in order to make the best decision. One I become a billionaire with this idea I might even have to purchase a Supercomputer for all the online transaction that will be made all over the world!! haha just kidding but I WISHH! I will also be using my Mobile Device 24/7 since I do not want to be disconnected from my product or my workers just in case any emergency or whatever could happen I want the to reach me via text, call, e-mail or whatever gets to me so I can help in whatever they need my help. I am definitely doing my research in Green Computing since I am all about going green and want my workplace to be so as well as my jacket!! they say my computer would "have a longer life".

With all the new technology now a days news gets around in matter of seconds. There is a very strong chance this idea will be known and with help of technicians and engineers we could make this HEAT Jacket possible and available for us during this for years of college. Hopefully with willingness and hard work we will spread and maybe, who knows, pro-skiers may be using this technology for competition as well as explorers and visitors in Mont Everest. So, my intentions with this new idea is to help everyone starting with people who live in cold climate weathers in their everyday jobs to be less painful, to professionals where their skills could be improved just with a little more heat.
